Best information fοr thе nеw folks taking home thеіr nеw puppy. Regardless οf thе breed thіѕ book takes thе nеw puppy owner through thе steps οf raising a well adjusted family pet. Plus a section fοr thе breeder before thе puppy leaves fοr іtѕ nеw home.

There are not many breeders that will sell u a beagle for cheap. Wait, let me re-phrase that…there are not many RESPONSIBLE breeders that will sell u a beagle pup for cheap. Although purebred dogs are no better than mixes, they are more expensive. I would suggest getting a beagle mix from a shelter. U would be saving a life!
If you want a decent healthy pure bred beagle, you probably wont find one that is cheap, but breeders.net can help you find known breeders nearest you.

A shelter is the only place you can get a dog for cheap if you don’t want to support backyard breeders and puppy mills.
There are lots of purebreds in shelters, BTW, you don’t have to get a mutt. There are lots of breed-specific shelters that try to rehome purebred dogs! Do a search for a beagle rescue in your area. Also, check http://www.petfinder.com/. A beagle rescue may list there, and so do lots of other shelters.
At your local animal shelter. Shelters are FULL of pure breed dogs, adults and puppies. And the adoption fee is usually $100-$200, but this depends on the shelter. This price is to cover costs of the care the dog received while at the shelter. If you live in the US or Canada you can go to http://www.petfinder.com/ to search for dogs who are in animal shelters in your area. You can search based on Breed, age, size, and gender. Good Luck finding your new companion!!
Try the Beagle Club of America. They should have a list of breeders….You should go for qaulity instead of Price!! Going cheap can cause you a lot of money in the long run…ie. sick puppy!!
Please stay away from Pet stores, and Puppy mills, generally Pet Stores get their puppies from Puppy Mills, and they mass breed!
There is a breeder on here sometimes. I think his name is Tom. He has tons of beagles but I have no idea how much they cost
Check your local newspaper classifieds. I got my purebred beagle for $150 through my newspaper (from NY).
Any time I hear the word “cheap” when looking for a dog, a red flag goes up. Are looking for a cheap dog, because you don’t have a lot of money? You must remember that the purchase price is just the beginning when you get a dog. You must be able to pay for good dog food (no Ol’Roy or cheap garbage) adequate vet care, toys, treats, bed, possible grooming, and the list goes on and on. Owning a dog is never ever cheap. The vet care alone can be very expensive, considering you have to keep their shots updated, keep them on heartworm medication and flea and tick meds, and also the cost of spaying or neutering. Also if there is an emergency, you must have funds to pay for emergency vet care. Please take all of this into consideration before purchasing a dog. Dog ownership is not cheap and nor is it easy. However, it is very rewarding.
And please do consider the humane society or pound when looking for your beagale. I found a pure bred Lhasa Apso there, that was just dying for a home. It cost me $100 to bring her home.
