It is VERY easy in your county. Just look in the newspaper. You will find ooodles of them. Or go to pets4you.com and find a breeder in your area.
Try looking at Petfinder. You can search by locality to see if your area shelters have beagle puppies. Or, search for a reputable Beagle breeder in your area. The National Beagle Club has a breeder directory.
You mentioned that you wanted it ASAP, and that makes me a little concerned — it’s best not to rush into a puppy! Any kind of puppy takes a lot of training, care and effort. If you’ve done the research, then surely you can wait a bit for your perfect puppy. Reputable breeders AND shelters are going to want to check you out, ask you some questions, before placing a puppy with you. Sometimes they will want to find one that best suits your situation (beagles can have certain behavioral difficulties, and like any other breed, isn’t for everyone). If you are in a rush and go get a puppy from a pet store, that’s supporting puppy mills and you might end up with a puppy that has physical ailments or bad temperament, because its “breeders” didn’t take those things into account. Anyway, I don’t mean to offend. I’m sure you already know these things … just wanted to recommend that you take your time! If one of the places you contact has a dog for you right away, then great! Good luck.
