You’re right about puppies chewing everything- mine does too! Try correcting him by taking whatever he’s chewing from his mouth, telling him a firm “No”, and give him one of his toys as a redirection, and if he chews his toy, tell him “Good Boy.” That way he’ll know which toys are appropriate to chew.
Me and my family raise Blue Heelers. Right now I have two Blue Heeler puppies. They do chew on everything, but I guess the only thing you can do is to tell it no or use a paper as a way to tell it that it’s not supposed to do that. Other than that leave it a lot of toys around for it to chew instead of your stuff.
There is no way to keep ur pup from chewing while teething unfortunately. but there is a brightside!
when he or she chews u say the pups name and no thats bad! example: Sheba that a no! Bad! and tap them on the nose just hard enough to let them no hey! dont do that.) now keep in mind they are just tryen to get the pain to stop. So u wanna go get maybe a baby teether just make sure depending on the dog type and size they wont swallow it. U will have to watch them with it. also u can get them a kong at almost any pet store and fill it with spray cheese or peanut butter. it makes the pups and or dogs go crazy! Lemon juice and pepper works well to make it so they wont keep going back to the same spot! just a spray or so and the pepper can be put on the floor around the area or whatever u wanna do. no the lemon juice isnt harmful nor is pepper! it just gives off an unappealing odor that they should stay away from. good luck!
Right, they all do. Give him something of his own he CAN chew on. Something soft, something rubber, and something hard with a gooey inside. That gives three different surfaces.
Don’t let him eat any of them, but chewing is ok. Those Kong toys have a hole in them you can slide peanut butter in, or cram in a dog biscuit, to give extra incentive. You can also freeze canned cat food into it. It’ll make a mess on the rug, so that should be given on a hard floor or outside.
There’s also beef leg bones that can be ‘filled’ with peanut butter and crunchy treates (together).
I also have an australian cattle dog puppy!!! they are sooo cute, but they are trouble!
just remember to give your puppy a lot of things to chew on to keep them busy! Also, try taking your dog on a walk. This could make him more tired so that he doesn’t chew! GOOD LUCK!
