Are beagles as hard to train as people say?

I am looking for a new puppy and I am thinking of a Beabull or a Puggle, but I hear that beagles aren’t the smartest breed. Opinions?
I had a beagle and he was very smart. These dogs are just independant
Study the breed first. They are hunters and have a extreme prey drive. You will have to be active with him and get him into obedience traing by 20 weeks. Stay consistent. A begale is a great loving dog
What the heck is a Beabull??? you mean a beagle?? beagles are hunting dogs and will catch a scent and run after it trying to catch its prey, they have a huge annoying ear piercing bark that not many people can stand. i would agree that beagles arent the smartest breed, ones that ive known never listen to their owners and are always getting into trouble. puggles are extremely cute.
You’re planning getting a cross bred dog so nothing is predictable. It could behave like either breed in the cross or a combination of both.
The behaviour of a dog is usually relative to the skill of the trainer rather than the IQ of the dog.
I hope you will rescue your cross bred dog rather than line the pockets of a back yard breeder or pet store.
well pugs are notorious for being like puppies for years, super difficult to housebreak, not very active, shed like you have never seen before, and so many genetic problems
combined with
a beagle who is ruled by his nose … in 20 years i have only ever saw one beagle off leash and that was because the thing was morbidly obese … a beagle is a dog that can rarely be off leash due to the strong drive to follow it’s nose
i personally would not suggest a pug, beagle and whose ever idea it was to combine the two, i really question that mentality …
even at the dog beach were i go there is a puggle and it is hated by the regulars because it is not trained, it barks constantly the entire time it is there at other dogs, other people … cute dogs, but super annoying
i fear to ask what a beabull is ?
Beagles seem to be a combination of nose and stomach: the endlessly follow scents, to the exclusion of everything else, including the word “come”; and they eat whatever they can steal.
If you are looking for a small dog, with short fur, and want a true companion, I would stick with something like a Boston Terrier.
Yes.
The Beagle is a very popular dog breed. They make excellent pets because of their great temperament and gentle disposition. However, they can be handful due to their stubbornness. Make sure that this is the breed you want before you get one.
