Darwin does NOT “speak of superior races.” He used the 19th century standard for civilizations. This is an important distinction. Descent of Man blows apart any argument that Darwin was any kind of racist.
Right now I am working with tons of American and English literature (loads of stuff hat was never repubished in the last 100years) from approx. 1800 – 1900. The everpresent racism (often stereotyping that is not even meant that mean because that’s the way ppl thought and were informed back then), anti-semitism and sexism as well as cruelity towards children and animals in a matter of fact kind of way is mind-boggling. Writers like Doyle were incredibly modern in their views..
@HerrKnitler The thing is, I can’t quite tell who this guy hates. He states that blacks are less evolved & Atheists are evil. He says some gobbledygook about slavery (I’m not sure if he’s advocating it or not). He uses his poor grasp of evolution to substantiate whatever incoherent point he’s trying to make, but seems to reject the concept of evolution & blame the idea on Atheists… I dunno…? anyways cheers mate, and good point btw.

Perfect answer. People forget that Africa is really really really big and that only some parts are fit for big populations… Unlike southern europe which has the perfect climate and resources for large amounts of people – and a lot of people have been fighting for that territory.
If you look at where all the african empires through the ages rise, it’s always in the same 5-6 territories. The rest is just not fit for empire building (with the available tech at the time that is).
@rekindling1 White people are not physically or mentally superior to blacks. European and Middle Eastern cultures became adept at warfare because they were constantly battling with one another. In this respect European societies advanced quicker than African cultures & thus dominated them. The VAST majority of slave owners throughout the 15th to 19th century were Christian. All Abrahamic religions condone slavery. All things evolve quicker, when they’re forced to adapt. What’s your point?

I love this show…Cuz it shows exactly how evil athiests are, with the idea of evolution…Notice that most athiests are white? Bc through evolution, they become most superior, over any other race. why? Where do you find the most technological advanced societies? All societies with white european descendants. Who organized blacks into slavery? Who spawned the industrial revolution? The white man, is responsible for chief advancements in all technologies…Simply bc whites are most evolved.
It doesn’t matter that Darwin was a racist. It doesn’t matter if Hitler got his idea of racial purity from Malthus and Darwin. It does matter that Hitler was a Catholic, though. It’s proof that what he did was in the name of the god of the bible! Christians are intellectually inferior and they will die out, like all inferior species.

Darwin did actually compare a Patagonian American Indian tribe to apes in his writings. Are people only racist when they say something negative about blacks? It really annoys me how people only talk about blacks when talking about racism and past oppression.
After all, these two are no doubt sitting on top of a Native American burial ground.

@thespacialone Yeah, the bible refers to servants and slaves interchangably, they were the same thing back then. But the fact was, the same word for ’servant’ or ’slave’ was used when referring to said person being the ‘property’ of another. The point is Jesus wasn’t all love and peace and everyone should be nice. In fact, in Luke 12:45-48 he recounts the story of the Faithful Servant where he says slave masters are perfectly justified in beating a slave who didn’t do what he was never told to.
@BigLundi Lol I thought the point of that was that servants (not slaves, yeah same difference) should be obedient to their masters, as Christ was obedient to his “divine” mission, and whatever cruelty was bestowed, because the only meaningful judgement was to follow in the hereafter.
Anyway, what’s the point? Bullying plutocrats throughout history have enjoyed the labour of slaves (to the detriment of everyone else). White men tried to put a stop to this. Too bad the hero became the villain.
@thespacialone Fine. You want proof Jesus was for Slavery? First Peter, 2:18 “You who are slaves must accept the authority of your masters. Do whatever they tel you, not only if they are kind and reasonable, but even if they are harsh.” He then goes on to say that if you suffer through a harsh master’s beatings, it’s actually more admirable in the eyes of God than if you suffer through the treatment of a lenient master.
Jesus never, ever, said anything, about abandoning the OT. At all.
@BigLundi Have you read the NT? I guess you’re referring to where he says about not coming to destroy the law of the prophets. I think he was referring to the commandments, however, rather than some rabbinical treatise on god-knows-what. Which part of Luke? Whatever part, it is nothing compared to OT, Talmud, Quran.

In FACT, in Luke, he mentioned a story of an unruly slave disobeying his master, and his master beating him, and then commended the rightousness and the justice served for said beating. So…yeah.
@BigLundi I don’t see advocacy of slavery anywhere in my New Testament, but it appears a lot in the Old Test. And aren’t Christians followers of Christ’s teachings? There may be many criticisms you can make of Christ’s teachings, but advocating slavery, at least in the temporal realm, is not one of them. For that, I’m informed you should look to the Torah, the Talmud & the Quran. For all their sins, Europeans did far more than any others to end slavery. Jews & Arabs were its main beneficiaries.
