How can i make my puppies stop being so insane?
They are really my families puppies, so i cant get rid of them. they whine and bark. when i scratch them to make them shut up, they either gnaw my hands and wrists, or they lick me. They jump on me. and they lick mt face. I cant train them out of any of this, because the rest of my family lets them. I’ve been trying to make them stay off me for months, but i cant do it. I’m really going to go ballistic, its to the point where i want to scream and shove them away. I shove them gently off me, but its really hard not to shove them with some good force behind it, because they jump back up. Every time i put them outside they want back in, and then they want out. It takes a lot of concious effort not to act violently towards them. Is there ANY way to stop them?
first of all, im NOT hurting the puppies. thats why im so pent up and tense, because im forced to watch them and they dont understand “IM ALREADY PISSED OFF AND DEPRESSED, STAY AWAY FROM ME”
and also, thanks for the reassurance, but the rest of my family ENJOYS having the puppies jump on them and having the puppies trying to get their slobbery, butt-licking tongues down their throats. I just try to only let certain HUMANS anywhere near my face, and i only let one human get their tongue anywhere on me, which is why im so pissed at the puppies right now.
you can suggest a training class with your whole family!!!
Nope, that’s what puppies do.
Be patient with them. They’re puppies. They’re like two-year-olds: Too hyper for their own good.
NO. Move and get a better family that takes pet ownership more seriously.
Chances are they will get sick of them behaving this way sooner or later and dump them at a shelter or “get rid of them”.
Not really. They are puppies and will eventually grow out of and get used to who they can do certaint hings to and who they can’t. Just be patient, remember, they are still babies and still learning.
Train them with treats and ask your local pet store for details. use chew toys, treats and leashes
the dog’s owner and the dogs all need obedience training. thank you for controling your temper around the dogs. you do know it’s not the dog’s fault they are acting this way. it’s the dog’s owner’s fault for not being responsible enough to train them properly.
Puppies ARE pretty insane unfortunately.
I had one and she drove me crazy, I can’t imagine how crazy it is with even more.
Once they get to about 6 months you can start training them formally.
I just got a firm in, to help me with my 18month old English Bull Terrier who is exceptionately STUBBORN.
But you may be able to do some other things to help you out now, depends how old they are I think.
Am interested to hear other people’s ideas……
They are puppies. If they annoy you, avoid them. If you are becoming violent, speak with your school counselor about this. Discuss with the counselor a non-confrontational way to get your family to listen and be better dog owners. Good luck to you.
Use a firm tone and use a single word like “NO!” “GO!” “OFF!” “LAY!” etc. When they nip you, immediately say “NO!” flick the nose with your finger (noses are sensitive, so you don’t have to do it hard to be effective) and push them away. Then keep them away with your leg or foot.
They sound like fairly young puppies, so it may take a little time. Also, try adding a little growl as you look them in the eyes. This is mom-dog language for “I’m serious here!”.
Good luck!
unfortunately, time. They need to grow up. Sometimes I take my puppy out and toss his favorite toy and let him run off some energy. The more you play with them the less they need to be played with
jst got a puppy myself so know what you mean
lay down the law with your family it cant be much fun for them they wont thinks its great fun when the dogs grow up and they have no control over them.
They are puppies, get over it. Hopefully they will all be sold soon enough. Don’t sit where they can jump on you, lick you or bite you. Hey are cute little puppies just looking for some attention.
puppies are like that.there full of life & happy! its there youth.
please dont hurt your puppies!
theres an old saying ,”a man who kicks a dog is no good.”
You can’t–baby animals are VERY playful, and consider you as fair game. When they get older, they will calm down.
when they all are together, you will not be able to change this behavior… sociaize each puppie alone…they will learn to behave well…you can not train the whole pack together… put all of them outside, bringing one in at a time for attention…
thats puppies for you….first you have to establish a rule with your family tell them that this is important so they become good obediant dog and try to set a 30 min period of time a day to train them …..you also need to play with them more…they are just trying to be playful and loving…remember their babies….they don’t know any better which is why it’s important to train them.. also if their bittie or “teething” get them a rawhide to chew they sell them in samll sizes at target (if there’s a target around you) otherwise go to the betstore and get them some
Why do you want to stop a puppy being a puppy, you idiot? You were probably the same at their age. In fact you seem to be still whining
