How long after having puppies can a female dog be spayed?

Before you say anything – no, my dog did not have puppies and this doesn’t apply to me.
I’m just curious. If a dog had puppies, but the owner wanted to have it spayed afterward, how long would they have to wait? Until the puppies have left the mother, until they’re weaned…?
Sherry – I just didn’t want to be identified as a BYB
Thanks everyone!
Until all milk production has ceased.
Depends on the vet also. I’ve had females spayed as early as. 4 weeks after whelping. But ussually they are spayed at 8 to 10 weeks.
I think once the puppies are weaned it’s safe. She will decide when to wean her pups.
Also, why would it be a big deal if your dog did have puppies?
EDIT: Aw.. gotcha.
would have to talk to your vet
usually when the pups are 12 weeks old.
