My 10% pit, 90% mutt mix does this EXACT thing. When she wakes up she’s all lovey-dovey to me and whoever else is in the room. Funny! I guess they aren’t pleasant dreams if they want comfort afterward.
My dog makes those noises when he’s dreaming and then normally sits up and howls. Glad my dog is normal

My dog has nightmares. He’ll be laying down sleeping then start crying and twitching. We have to wake him up when he has a nightmare but its kinda funny

Both my dogs do this too.Ive heard them go into full barks and growling plus the running in the sleep.Its all very amusing.
